Day 7 | Pray ends with AMEN

Today’s Scripture:

"Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.” Then all the people said “Amen!” and praised the Lord." - 1 Chronicles 16:36

Full Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 16:7-36

Today’s Thought:

Amen, what a little word with big power. Amen is used after a prayer, creed or other formal statement  meaning “certainly,” “it is so,” or “so it be.” Interestingly enough this Hebrew word could not be easily translated in Greek. Sometimes Luke translates “amen” when it is used by Jesus in a very special manner. We find Amen used only 30 times in the Old Testament and 129 times in the New Testament. The most frequent use of the word “amen” is to affirm praises to the Lord.

In the full scripture reading, 1 Chronicles 16:7-36, we see David’s Psalm of Thanksgiving. David calls us to give thanks, sing praises, seek the strength of the Lord, remember the Lord’s wonderful works, miracles, and covenants and so much more. We have reason to celebrate that from day to day; for we daily receive the benefit, and it is a subject that can never be exhausted. As we finish this week focused on prayer, what will be your ‘Amen’ moment? How will you praise the Lord for all your blessings?

aRemember to Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield  AMEN and AMEN

Today’s Prayer:

[End your day with a prayer with your hands lifted up using the P.R.A.Y. acronym]
