Today’s Thought:

Kneeling is a traditional position that demonstrates humility, repentance, submission, and supplication. It is the position that we see most often where one is seeking favor or making their supplications known to God. When we practice a kneeling pose, we can acknowledge our weakness and grant God’s strength and power to access our every fiber. Kneeling before the Lord to humbly make your prayer requests and to reaffirm your commitment to follow God should become a common practice.

In Ephesians 18-19 it states, “I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” The author here is praying that you may come to know that God’s love is greater than “spiritual” knowledge itself.

Another great verse is Psalms 95:6, “O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” Here we are asked to not only inwardly worship the Lord, our Marker - the One who has created us, redeemed us, and taken us to be his people - but to outwardly and visibly worship the Lord with our body.

When you approach prayer do you search out God’s Love? God’s knowledge? Do you come to worship?
